Morocco Clinches 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Equals Ghana’s Historic Feat

Morocco has made history by winning the 2025 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, becoming only the second African nation to claim the title after Ghana’s triumph in 2009. The North African side defeated Argentina 2-0 in the final held in Chile, marking a decisive victory compared to Ghana’s dramatic penalty shootout win over Brazil.

Winger Mohamed Yassir Zabiri was the star of the match, scoring both goals in the 12th and 29th minutes. His first came from a stunning free kick just outside the box after being fouled by Argentina’s goalkeeper Santino Barbi.

The second was a composed finish at the far post, assisted by Othmane Maamma’s brilliant run and cross.

Zabiri ended the tournament as one of the top scorers with five goals, while Maamma was named the tournament’s best player. Colombia secured third place after edging France 1-0.

Morocco’s victory marks a milestone for African football, matching Ghana’s legacy and showcasing the continent’s rising talent on the global stage.
